Rongowhakaata Website launched

Our Iwi website was blessed yesterday alongside the Rongowhakaata Combined Marae Rangatahi Programme at Manutuke Marae. Kaumatua and rangatahi were presented with the new look by Heather and Ron Stallmach, local web designers and part of the Waipara Whanau. Those of us in attendance appreciated that our website is a place of  whanaungatanga for Rongowhakaata and a necessary tool of communication for this day and age especially when we are endevouring to share as much information as possible about the Claims, Settlement and Ratification of Rongowhakaata Waitangi Tribunal grievances.

Rongowhakaata Combined Marae have initiated a 6 month community work programme which will be facilitated by six Rongowhakaata rangatahi and a supervisor. This involves Marae conservation and maintenance, environmental restoration works, involvement in the Manutuke Community Enhancement Plan and a commitment to their individual career pathways.
